Shannon Ratliff is a writer and editorial strategist in Austin. Most recently, she co-founded Shroomer, where she developed research translation workflows that synthesized more than 1,500+ studies into accessible storytelling for 24,000+ weekly readers, and built education-led brand and customer systems for Naturealm. Her editorial leadership also includes roles at Wide Open Media Group (20M+ monthly readers; acq. by Publishers Clearing House), Cratejoy, and Clearscope.

As a literary writer, her work appears in Seneca Review, Pleiades, Gulf Coast, Hotel Amerika, Joyland, SLICE, and more. Her chapbook, arch (dancing girl press), examines isolation and language. Her essay collection, Voices Carry, is currently on query. She is also at work on a short story collection and a series of essays about animals fallen from grace.

She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine, where she served as Nonfiction Editor of Stonecoast Review.

She writes Analog Lava Lamps, a weekly Substack.
